Ambling Cottage has been completely and luxuriously renovated it sits amid vineyards on 3 acres with, uninterrupted views over the Watervale Valley through to the surrounding hills and backs on to the famous 27 Kilometre Riesling Trail that runs between Auburn and Clare.

The block sits in a valley behind the village of Watervale and is walking distance from Annies Lane, Clos Clare, Crabtree Stephen John wineries and the Watervale Hotel, shops and various facilities.

There is a grove of 200 Olive trees on the property, along with walnut, lemon, almond apple and pear trees. There are many magnificent 60 plus year old native trees which are home to a plethora of native birds.
Ambling Cottage has been designed to take advantage of the views and the tranquil outdoor lifestyle. There is a large deck on to which three concertina glass doors open on to from the lounge. The deck has a teak out door setting for entertaining plus a large market umbrella and a BBQ.

The house has been furnished with the best of everything. The kitchen is a gourmet’s delight, with a German stainless steel under-bench oven, ceramic cook top, microwave, dishwasher, and a host of quality minor appliances. There are white seraphic splash backs and full black granite benches. Full attention has been given to the small things, the crockery is Royal Doulton and all the glassware European, there is a vast array of pots, pans and knives.

In the lounge room there is a luxurious, contemporary leather modular sofa to sink into while you enjoy the white pebble open flame fire that snugly heats the entire house. There is of course plenty of entertainment on offer in the form of a large TV, DVD and Video player CD and tape player. There is also a small library of movies and music to help you while away the time. In addition there is a collection of books, magazines and games for the more traditional minded

The dinning room is ideal for dinner parties, and has a table for six.

Throughout the cottage, the walls are adorned with original paintings from local artists; fine lamps and sculptural pieces.

There are two bedrooms, each with equipped with a quality queen-size beds, dressed with fine linen, dressing gowns and all the little touches such as electric blankets, extra summer and winter blankets, clock radios, bedside lamps, the works. Each bedroom has its own walk in wardrobe/dressing room plus a full ensuite with a shower vanity and toilet.

The ‘piece de resistance’ of the cottage is the magnificent spa room. The double spa bath with head rests at both ends and powerful, soothing jets, is set against a wall of bottle glass where dappled light adds to the peaceful atmosphere. The spa bath is accessed by ascending three large steps and then sinking in to the bath. This is the ideal place to sip a glass of fine Riesling or bubbles and relax after a busy day, or the perfect pick me up after a hard week in the grind of the city.

All the necessary services are provided, there is everything that opens and shuts including a full laundry, iron ironing board etc. And there is plenty of undercover parking

Ambling is a luxury adult, sophisticated retreat, ideal for one or two couples. There is a minimum two night booking period and all guests receive provisions for a generous country breakfast, plus local wine, and quite a few surprises.
