The History Trust of South Australia encourages the research and public presentation of South Australian history and to safeguard South Australia?s material heritage.

The Trust aims to
PROMOTE - The value, understanding and enjoyment of South Australian history.
ENHANCE - Our community?s sense of identity by presenting a diversity of perspectives on the past.

CREATE - A better understanding of South Australia?s distinctive heritage by helping to present and interpret our diverse cultural identities.

NURTURE - Community historical endeavour.
The Trust is located in central Adelaide at the Torrens Parade Ground on the corner of Victoria Drive and King William Street.

The public face of the Trust is presented by our three museums ? The Migration Museum, The National Motor Museum and the South Australian Maritime Museum. Collectively these museums manage the State Historical Collection.

Through the Community History Unit the Trust manages important community history programs that assist local community museums and historical researchers in their work.

The History Trust's Exhibition Gallery is located at the Torrens Parade Ground. In this gallery the History Trust presents changing exhibitions which focus on aspects of the history of South Australia and the city of Adelaide.

The Trust also manages the Queen's Theatre in Gilles Arcade, Adelaide. This venue is for hire for functions and performances.
